A one-of-a-kind Clapton acoustic guitar, nicknamed the “Unplugged” guitar due to the fact Clapton almost chose this guitar during his famous “Unplugged” performance. A C.F. Martin and Company 1939 000-42 Acoustic Guitar, headstock bearing the CF Martin & Co/Est 1833 brand. Clapton described this guitar as his “Front Room Guitar” having being played at home extensively as well as recordings that need an acoustic guitar. A quote Clapton said about this guitar is, “They’re front room guitars, they got played at home extensively, and on records and everything…”. Clapton originally bought the guitar from George Gruhn guitars. The guitar shows much wear. The guitar itself, without having been owned and used by Clapton, is worth approximately $70,000! The guitar is identical to Clapton's famous “Unplugged” guitar. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Eric Clapton and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.

Provenance: Christie's 2004 Crossroads Auction, Lot 20.
