Stevie Ray Vaughan Played & Signed Black Fender Squier Guitar.

Legendary guitar player Stevie Ray Vaughan has signed this guitar in a gold sharpie. The consignor was good friends with Stevie Ray Vaughan, who invited him into his tour bus and was able to sit down with him to have this guitar be signed. Stevie played the guitar sitting there, even doing a short solo on it before he signed it

Per our consignor, this is the story of how the guitar got signed: “I had known Stevie for a while and spent an hour or so on his tour bus with him on his last tour. He was not the same man I had met years earlier. He had stopped doing drugs and alcohol and was totally focused for the first time I had ever been with him. I was so thrilled for him. When I saw Stevie, he loved the guitars I brought him and had fun with them. He told me kiddingly that he wouldn’t sign them if they were junk, so he had to tune them and do a killer solo on each guitar. He signed three guitars for me that day, one of which I got on camera.”.

Provenance: From the collection of a former Music Executive. Lots 76 to 100 and Lots 499 to 803 in this auction are consigned by one vendor, who worked with and met various artists from 1985-1992. All the items were personally obtained by the vendor. This is the best in-person collection we have ever handled as an auction company.

The photograph showing Stevie Ray Vaughan holding a signed guitar depicts the signing where this guitar was signed, however the photograph shows the other guitar our consignor got signed by Stevie, not this exact one.

Good condition.

Authentication: Roger Epperson (REAL) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
