This leotard/bodysuit was worn by singer Rihanna in the controversial 2011 video for her song “S&M,” which was the first track off of her 2010 album “Loud” released by Def Jam Records. The singer appeared wearing the outfit notably in numerous scenes throughout the video, which featured elaborate costumes, vibrantly colored set designs, and an unusual cameo appearance by Internet gossip columnist Perez Hilton. The video for “S & M” was directed by Rihanna’s longtime collaborator Melina Matsoukas, who directed videos for several of her other past hits including “Rockstar 101”, “Rude Boy”, and “Hard”. Despite the immense success of the single on the international charts, the video caused considerable controversy after its Vevo premiere on Feb. 1st, 2011 that resulted in a viewing restriction on YouTube and eventual ban in 11 countries. The bodysuit is in very good screen used condition and are accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house that provided them for use on the production.
