During the summer of 1970, on the heels of 1969's Woodstock, regional promoters tried their hand at mounting their own festivals. They, of course, hoped to attract multitudes of paying customers, rather than the hundreds of thousands of gate-crashers that descended upon Max Yasgur's farm in Bethel, New York, in August '69. Four of the nine posters represented here advertise such events held in 1970; the remaining six posters spanning 1971 to 1978.
