This is an incredibly scarce historic official program from the 1960 Rome Summer Olympics, in which a young Cassius Clay despite being only 18 at the time, won all four of his fights to win the light heavyweight Gold Medal. (Clay later changed his name to Muhammad Ali upon his conversion to Islam four years later.) Clay’s name appears in the unscored bracket for the light heavyweight contests. The program is accompanied by its original mailing envelope posted to the United States from Rome. From this auspicious beginning winning the light heavyweight Gold Medal, who could have predicted Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali) becoming perhaps “The Greatest,” heavyweight champion of all-time. Very good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
