These are early working lyrics for Bob Dylan’s hit 1965 song “Subterranean Homesick Blues,” handwritten and signed by Dylan himself using a black felt-tip pen. The song was initially released as a single on March 8, and then it was re-released two weeks later on his album “Bringing it All Back Home” which saw him move away from the protest-music he had been releasing. The lyrics written here are quite similar to the official lyrics of the song. “Subterranean Homesick Blues” has been featured on several of Dylan's compilations and even his 1967 singles compilation “Bob Dylan’s Greatest Hits.”

Dylan has said that the song is heavily inspired by the “Beat” generation of American poetry, which includes writers like Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac. The first sheet measures 5.5” x 4,” and the second and third sheets both measure 4” x 7.5”. Good condition. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from Dylan’s manager Jeff Rosen and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
