In 1924, several United States baseball teams traveled to Europe to play exhibition games in hopes of growing popularity of the sport in the continent. Games were played all across Europe. Irish Meusel is photographed crossing first base as Bud Clancy is seen behind him, attempting to tag him out. Meusel had a few seasons of brilliance with the New York Giants. He appeared in four consecutive World Series for the Giants: 1921, 1922, 1923, and 1924. In 1922, Meusel compiled 204 hits and was second in the league with 132 RBIs, both career highs. In 1923, he led the National League with 125 RBIs while scoring a career-high 102 runs. In 1925 he batted .328 with 111 RBIs and 21 home runs, a personal best. His career average is .310 with 819 RBIs. Good condition. Measures 6.5 x 9. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
