Not overly flamboyant by Elton John's standards is this four-button, black tuxedo jacket with green trimmed lapels, pockets and cuffs. Presumably worn in concert during the 1977 summer/fall tour, Sir Elton announced a short-lived retirement from live concert performances in November 1977, only to return to the stage fifteen months later. The stitched tailoring label reads "Kilgour, French & Stanbury LTD., 334 Dover St. London, W.1." Handwritten below is "5511" and "20 4 77" and "E. John Esq." EX. Estimate $900-$1,100.
