John F. Kennedy's voter registration chairman Frank Thompson, Jr. has signed this August 18, 1960 letter typed on U.S. Senator John F. Kennedy For President original letterhead in black ink. The letter came from the Estate of Evelyn Lincoln who was Kennedy's personal secretary from when he was a Senator through his Presidency at the White House. The letter was originally kept by Evelyn in Kennedy's Senate office files and then moved to his White House files. Evelyn was in the motorcade when Kennedy was assassinated. The letter is written to a county chairman urging him to forward his complete roster of the Democratic Committee members in his county as "Senator Kennedy has stated on many occasions that registration is the most important single factor that will contribute to victory this November."
