George Michael wore this L.A.P.D. police officer’s uniform in his 1988 music video “Outside”. The costume is comprised of a short-sleeved, black police officer’s shirt with two Los Angeles patches, one on each arm, and two Lieutenant’s pins, one on each arm. Theirs is a police badge attached to the front left breast which has “GM” written on the back. The matching trousers have a silver grosgrain stripe on each leg. Both the shirt and the pants have labels which have some writing on it that is not legible. Accompanied the shirt and pants is a black leather belt, a pair of black leather gloves and mirrored aviator-style sunglasses. “Outside”, released in October 1988, was from George’s album “Ladies and Gentlemen: The Best of George Michael” and refers to his arrest earlier that year for “engaging in a lewd act” in the bathroom of a park in Beverly Hills. Very good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity. Provenance: Profiles In History, Hollywood Auction, 26th-28th June 2017.
