Though The Jimi Hendrix Experience had electrified the crowd at the Monterey Pop Festival just a month prior, Monkeemania was in full swing at Forest Hills where the Experience, as part of their first U.S. tour, was the opening act for four nights, July 13-16, 1967. Having joined the tour only a week earlier, it was evident that the pairing with The Monkees was a mismatch of monumental proportions. Hendrix left the tour after these Forest Hills dates. This 2.5" x 1.5" ticket stub is from the July 15 performance. Stapled to the inside cover of the 28-pg. program (VG) is a WMCA memo. Estimate $300-$500.
