Jean-Michel Basquiat made this collage titling it "July 79 Social Studies, Jean Basquiat, Self Portrait." Created before he even had his first art show, the collage mixes copies of his "ID" cards - his City-As-School student ID card, his Social Security Card and a card dated May 16, 1979 interspliced with graphpaper drawings and splotches of vibrant color.
