Elvis Presley has vintage signed and inscribed this 8" x 10" black and white photograph to his movie costume fitter John Intlekofer, "To Johnny, Thanks for taking care of my clothes and being so helpful. God bless you, Elvis Presley" in blue ballpoint pen. Elvis inscribed this photograph to Intlekofer in 1956 on the set of his first movie, "Love Me Tender." Intlekofer's first touch with greatness was playing on the same team as Babe Ruth in a Long Beach exhibition game of semi-pros and a Shell Oil company team where Babe Ruth autographed a home run ball to him. Intlekofer's pro baseball career was brought to a quick end when still a rookie with the Chicago White Sox when he suffered an injury on the field and ended up playing, coaching and managing teams in the minor leagues. From 1931 to 1949 Intlekofer worked in the minor leagues and towards the end began working in the movie business, ending up at 20th Century Fox as a costumer. It was there that he met Elvis and chose his clothes for his first film "Love Me Tender". He worked with Elvis on some of his other films as well, including "Flaming Star". The photograph comes from the Intlekofer family and is in excellent condition. Comes with a copy of a newspaper article detailing Intlekofer's life and relationship with Elvis Presley. Estimate: $3,000 - $5,000.
