Yardbirds 1968 Signed Record Sleeve with Jimmy Page.

Yardbirds band members Jimmy Page, Jim McCarty, Chris Deja, Keith Relf and manager Richard Cole have signed this 45 record sleeve in black ink. Page has also inscribed "To Donna best wishes Yardbirds, and their manager Richard Cole has inscribed "Best Wishes." The sleeve is accompanied by the original "Demonstration Use Only Not For Sale" 45 vinyl with "Think About It" (written by Page) on one side and "Goodnight Sweet Josephine" on the other.

This is a very special piece because the story of how the signatures were obtained is written on the opposite side of the sleeve! In a handwrittten note written on the sleeve, a friend of "Donna's" family named Judy has written an entire description of how the Yardbirds were on her flight, giving the date and the flight number as: May 19, 1968, Flt. 627. She says how nice it was to have Donna's parents on her flight and how she was looking forward to catch up with her, and then casually mentions that the Yardbirds were on the same flight so she had the band sign the record sleeve. Very cool!

The Yardbirds were formed in London in 1963. The band started the careers of three of rock's most famous guitarists: Eric Clapton (1963–1965), Jeff Beck (1965–1966) and Jimmy Page (1966–1968), all of whom ranked in the top five of Rolling Stone magazine's list of 100 greatest guitarists. The band's other members during 1963–1968 were vocalist/harmonica player Keith Relf, drummer Jim McCarty, rhythm guitarist Chris Dreja, and bassist Paul Samwell-Smith, with Dreja switching to bass when Samwell-Smith departed in 1966. The band had a string of hits throughout the mid-1960s, including "For Your Love", "Heart Full of Soul", "Shapes of Things", and "Over Under Sideways Down."

Dimensions: 7 in x 7 in.

Condition: Overall very good condition, with some wear to the sleeve, including a few small tears.
