New York Yankees pitching ace Whitey Ford has signed the cover of this official 1959 New York Yankees Yearbook (Revised Edition). The yearbook highlights the 1958 World Champion Yankees. Nicknamed “The Chairman of the Board” Whitey Ford holds the All-Time Yankee pitching record with 236 wins. Ford made his Yankee debut in 1950 and went on to win Rookie of the Year. Playing 16 seasons for the Yankees, Ford holds numerous pitching records. His 25-4 record on the great 1961 Yankee team earned him a Cy Young Award as well as World Series MVP. Ford's 10 World Series wins and 33 consecutive scoreless innings in World Series play are also records that stand today. Fords number 16 was retired by the New York Yankees making him the first pitcher to be so honored in Yankee Stadium’s Monument Park.
Condition: The yearbook displays some light wear along the spine with a small crease in the upper right corner. Whitey Ford’s autograph on the center of the cover remains bold. Excellent condition.
