This is truly an impressive, one-of-a-kind autographed Major League baseball artifact. Measuring about 100” X 64” is this huge Washington Senators banner that once flew above a major league ballpark that is signed by approximately 80 Hall of Famers or famed ballplayers with one notable exception – the signature of Heavyweight Champion, Muhammad Ali boldly signed in heavy black marker. Signed Hall of Famers include Joe DiMaggio, Sandy Koufax, Hank Aaron, Don Drysdale, Maury Wills “104 stolen bases”, Johnny Bench, Reggie Jackson, Warren Spahn, Ernie Banks, Fergie Jenkins “31”, Bob Feller, Bob Doerr, Enos Slaughter, Rich Ashburn, Al Kaline, Rollie Fingers, George Kell, Eddie Mathews, Robin Roberts, Duke Snider, Gaylord Perry, Stan Musial, Lou Boudreau, Catfish Hunter. Of the many other signers is famed Japanese baseball icon, Sadaharu Oh who inscribed his lifetime home run total “#868” and has signed in English and in Japanese; famed Negro League player Lou Dials and Hall of Fame umpire Al Barlick. The attractive red, white and blue cloth banner is lettered “SENATORS” with large sewn on lettering. Founded as an American League franchise in 1901, the Senators played in Griffith Stadium from 1911-1960 before relocating to become the Minnesota Twins.
