The photograph was signed by Sammy Hagar, Eddie Van Halen, Michael Anthony, and Alex Van Halen, “Stephen, Getting’ down (ineligible) Style in ’91,” in silver and blue felt-tip pen.
The photograph was used as the cover art for Van Halen’s hit album, “OU812.”
Van Halen, formed in 1973, is credited with putting hard rock back into the forefront of music.
“OU812” was the eighth studio album from the group. The album pays tribute to The Beatles and is an homage to the cover art of “With the Beatles.” The band dedicated “OU812” to Eddie and Alex Van Halen’s dad, Jan, who died in December 1986. The signed photograph is the cover art for this album.
