Ulysses S Grant Signed Appointment Document 1869.

President Ulysses S. Grant, the 18th President of the United States (1869-1877) signed document making an appointment to the position of Marshall of the United States for the District of Maryland.

The document is dated April 9, 1869, shortly after Grant assumed the presidency. Grant led the Union to victory as the commanding general during the Civil War forcing the surrender of General Robert E. Lee. The document bears the Presidential seal along with the signature of Hamilton Fish, the Secretary of State.

Dimensions: The document measures approximately 14 in X 11 in and is framed to measure 23 in X 29 in.

Condition: Very Good.
