From the personal collection of renowned booking agent and promotional manager for over four decades, Irwin Pate, and his widow Clarine Pate, this is Tom Petty's personal owned and worn brown blazer jacket.
Irwin Pate promoted talent all over the U.S. and during his career he and his wife obtained a large collection of personal clothing and articles belonging to numerous entertainers. According to the detailed letter of provenance that accompanies the jacket, Irwin knew Tom Petty and worked with him on a few occasions. It was during one of his meetings with Tom that Irwin told him about his collection, and Tom then gave Irwin some items for collection, including this brown blazer.The jacket remained in the collection of the Pates for many years.
Size: No size indicated, however it appears to be a large medium, or large.
Condition: Very good, with all original buttons, including on the large front pockets and the cuffs. There is one button missing of the two buttons that close the jacket (the bottom button, and jacket can easily be worn as a one-button closure jacket).
Authentication: Letter of provenance from Irwin Pate's widow Clarine on Pate Entertainment, Inc. letterhead and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
