This is the actual desk that Tim Robbins used as his character Andy Dufresne in one of the most beloved films of all time, 1994's "The Shawshank Redemption". Andy uses this desk in the scene where he is doing the taxes for the police officers after their baseball match. The police officers are in baseball uniforms. You can clearly see Tim Robbins sitting and working at the desk, pulling out one of the drawers (the drawer handles, or pulls, can be seen clearly as the same). This very iconic prop desk was originally sold, along with other set props, after the film finished shooting, in Mansfield, Ohio (where the prison there was used as well). It was purchased by a Mansfield resident who was thrilled when she found an actual "Shot List for Day 35 (7-27-93)" from the film referring to scenes taking place in and around the warden's office, in one of the drawers. A fascinating aside, the shoot list sheet, (shown here), is titled "Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption" which is the actual title of the novella by Stephen King from which the movie was adapted. Measures 66" length, 33" width and 31" height. The desk is in very good, vintage condition. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and a very detailed letter of provenance from the individual who purchased the desk from the original buyer, her good friend and a long-time resident of Mansfield herself, as well as the original July 27, 1993 shoot list sheet that was found inside one of the drawers. Also comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
