In September 1964, photographer Richard Rosse captured these three wonderful images of The High Numbers in their earliest publicity photo session, and on stage at suburban London's Railway Hotel. It was during the Tuesday night, three-month residency at the Railway Hotel in August '64 that The High Numbers were seen by Chris Stamp and Kit Lambert; the encounter leading the pair to becoming the group's new managers. By late November, the renamed "The Who" was beginning their six-month, Tuesday night, run at London's Marquee Club; the stint leading to the exposure that led to their recording contract with Brunswick Records a month later....and the rest, as they say, is history! Printed from the original negatives, this is one of only twenty-five sets of these magnificent, 20 x 24" black & white historic photographs to be produced. Estimate $400-$600.
