Offered here is an AKG D25 microphone used by The Beatles in January 1969, during the Get Back recording sessions, held at Twickenham Studios and Apple Corps Headquarters, London. The original owner obtained the Microphone from the "Abbey Road Studios" sale. The Microphone has the following engraved “Type D25 Ohm 60, AKUSTISCHE-U. KINOGERATE Ges.m.b.H VIENNA Austria N; 1860, BBCED No 1948, The “Get Back Sessions”, or the “Let It Be” album recording sessions, as they have come to be known, saw the attempted restoration of The Beatles as a functioning band. However, plans were stifled by shaky personal differences and band-related politics, resulting in George Harrison quitting over lunch. 5 days later, Harrison agreed to ‘re-join’ the band, and the recording sessions were relocated to the Apple Building at 3 Savile Row.

The recording sessions were subject to a recent documentary series, where the microphone can be seen throughout, suspended on a boom arm above the band. The condition is overall good, with the elastic suspension still intact, and age related marks to the surface of the microphone. An incredible opportunity to own something from one of the most iconic recording sessions in history. Comes with a letter of provenance from Chris Hewitt, collector and purveyor of vintage sound equipment and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
