The Beatles 1965 Melody Maker Pop Poll Award For “Ticket to Ride”.

The British weekly magazine Melody Maker began as a publication for musicians way back in 1926, and claimed to be the "world's oldest weekly music magazine, running continuously until 2000 when it merged with its chief publishing rival New Music Express.

Offered here is the Melody Maker Pop Poll 1965 award for "Top British Vocal Disc - Ticket to Ride", a plaque with sterling silver figure inset, one of four presented to the members of the Beatles in 1965.

The award was crafted by Garrard & Co. Ltd, and bears their hallmark in the lower left corner.

The black wood portion of the award is not original, the rest is original.
