This 1983 Fender Elite Stratocaster was owned and played by legendary guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan. Stevie Ray personally donated this guitar to charity after a show in the Palace in 1989. For the charity, Stevie Ray Vaughan signed the guitar and inscribed it “1989”. After the guitar was sold, the owner displayed the guitar at the Rockwalk, in LA until it caught the eye of Mark Tremonti of Creed, to which he purchased the guitar in 2001. The guitar was sold once more through Carter Vintage Guitars and is now being offered to auction for the first time to the public. Stevie Ray Vaughan guitars are very hard to find, making this a rare opportunity to get one. Stevie Ray Vaughan can be seen playing a very similar guitar on various occasions. The lot comes with the original case, a letter of provenance from the winning bidder of the original charity, a receipt of sale to Mark Tremonti, a receipt from Carter Vintage Guitars, a letter of authenticity from Carter Vintage, a letter of provenance from the current owner, several tags from the Rockwalk exhibit, a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
