Stevie Ray Vaughan Handwritten & Signed Personal Letter Discussing Sobriety (REAL). Guitar great Stevie Ray Vaughan incredible, personal handwritten letter in which he is reaching out to a close friend in rehab, and talks about his own sobriety and feelings around it. This extremely honest and intimate letter is an amazing insight into Stevie Ray Vaughan as a person who struggled with sobriety, saying how he "used to be afraid to miss the party, and now I am sometimes afraid I'll show up, because in all truth I wouldn't trade being clean for anything." He goes on to say, "As you put it now I can at least TRY to learn some of the important stuff, beginning with trust- faith- honesty-hope-forgiveness - and so on. Not to mention how to relax!" Stevie goes on to as his friend what he's reading, if he's in a program, asking "is it something you've found inside?" He asks if he can visit, and attend a meeting, and can he bring him anything, urging his friend to write him back and fill him in. This letter, written from the heart, shows how great a friend and man Stevie Ray Vaughan was, in addition to being one of the greatest guitarists of all time. His compassion and care is incredibly moving.
A very rare, intimate, insight into the man, the friend, and ultimately the artist.
