Satchel Paige, considered one of the greatest pitchers of all time, has boldly signed his business card from the Springfield Redbirds baseball team where he served as Vice President of this AAA affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. Leroy Robert "Satchel" Paige (July 7, 1906 - June 8, 1982) pitched professionally from 1924-1959 and was the first man elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame by the Committee on Negro Leagues formed in 1971. He didn't pitch in the major leagues until 1948 and he became the American League's leading relief pitcher in 1952 at age 46. That same year Casey Stengel named him to the American League All-Star team, making him the first black pitcher on an AL All-Star team. With a career spanning four decades, Paige came back to pitch his last game in 1965 at the age of 59 (three scoreless innings for the Kansas City Athletics). Signed in black ballpoint pen. Very good to excellent condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
