Rare Beatles "Yesterday and Today" Cover Picture Used to Replace The Infamous "Butcher" Cover.
When the Beatles originally released their album "Yesterday and Today" the cover, showing the Beatles wearing butcher's smocks and covered with dead, mutilated baby mannequins and raw meat, it drew such an outcry from the public and was withdrawn and replaced with the over picture you see here, a very stain photograph of the Beatles sitting in and around a trunk. In the original Butcher cover the Beatles are smiling seeming to really be enjoying their "joke", however on the replacement picture they ar rather grim looking, with a sardonic look on John Lennon's face as if to say, "you just didn't get it."
Offered here is the cover picture produced by Capitol Records, in quite a rush. It is the cover picture only, not the cover itself, the picture appears to have been removed from the cover, probably by the original owner who wanted to see the Butcher picture that may have been behind it..
Condition: With a few tears, including a cut section on the bottom right corner, the picture does have has some creasing both on the front and on the back indicating it was removed from the cover.
Authentication: Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
