Queen frontman Freddie Mercury's stage worn black leather motorcycle cap size L/XL. From the personal collection of renowned booking agent and promotional manager Irwin Pate. For over four decades Irwin Pate promoted talent all over the United States and internationally. During his career he and his wife Clarine obtained a large collection of personal clothing and articles belonging to numerous entertainers, including Freddie Mercury. Irwin knew Freddie and worked with him on a few occasions and promoted a few Queen concerts. During a meeting Freddie gave Irwin some items from his collection that he no longer used, including this black leather motorcycle cap. Freddie is pictured wearing a similar cap. Very good condition. The cap has been in the possession of the Pates up to the time of this auction. Irwin Pate passed away in May of 2018, and the cap comes with a letter of provenance from his wife Clarine Pate on Pate Booking Agency letterhead. Also comes with a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
