Prince Signed Self-Titled "Prince" Album Cover (Beckett).
"Prince" is the self-titled second studio album by American musician icon of the same name, Prince. It was released on October 19, 1979 by Warner Bros. Records. The album was written, arranged, composed, produced and performed entirely by Prince. Overall, "Prince" was regarded as more diverse than his debut "For You" (1978), and performed better critically and commercially. Reviewing in "Christgau's Record Guide: Rock Albums of the Seventies (1981)", Robert Christgau wrote: "This boy is going to be a big star, and he deserves it". It looks like Mr. Christgau was on to something!
Offered here, we are proud to present an original pressing of the album cover for "Prince", beautifully hand signed and inscribed on the back cover image in blue felt tip marker, "Love God, P '88."
In the fall of 1988, Prince and The Revolution embarked on a world tour to promote the album. During the early part of the tour, the band agreed to a couple record in-store appearances to promote the album. This one came from NK department store in Stockholm. It was signed on August 12, 1988.
The cover showcases some minor handling wear along the edges including wear and minor creasing, none of which affects the superb signature or the cover's overall fine appearance.
Authentication: Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS) and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
