Prince Owned & 1996 Today Show Worn Versace Sunglasses.

These black Gianni Versace sunglasses were personally owned and worn by Prince. The sunglasses have a black cat eye frame with black lenses and gold tone Medusa logos and stud details along the arms.

Prince was pictured wearing these glasses during his July 9, 1996 Today Show performance, please see photos. Prince was fascinated with Versace and went to several of their fashion shows held in Italy and abroad, as he was personal friends with Donatella Versace.

The glasses will come with a notarized letter of provenance from Jeff Lowe, who amassed a large Prince collection from Prince's ex-wife, Mayte Garcia, in 2007. A similar pair of Prince's Versace sunglasses worn during the same era with similar provenance sold in March 2021 for over $15,000.
