Pete Townshend & John Entwistle Owned & Played EN-20 Takamine Acoustic Guitar.
Offered here is John Entwistle’s EN-20 Takamine Acoustic Guitar which Pete Townshend gifted to John Entwistle.
The guitar came from Sotheby’s auction from John Entwistle, however after inspection from Pete Townshend, he remembered gifting this guitar to Entwistle.
Per Townshend's assistant, “I am writing in response to your letter to Pete Townshend dated 14th May concerning the EN-20 Takamine which you purchased at the Sotheby’s auction of John Entwistle’s effect. Pete’s guitar technician, Alan Rogan, recalls that the guitar was once owned by Pete who later asked Alan to sell the guitar for him. Apparently, Alan knew John Entwistle had always liked this particular guitar and so Alan bought it for John. John used to keep the guitar in his studio for people to use”.
Pete used this guitar in his 1989 tour.
