This is a pair of Nike Air Legacy III basketball shoes worn by Paul Pierce during 2012-2013, his last season playing with the Boston Celtics after which he was traded to the Nets and playing with two other teams before ending his career. Nicknamed “the Truth” given him by basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal after dropping 42 points against the Los Angeles Lakers, Pierce starred as Captain of the Celtics during which he earned 10 All-Star selections and becoming a four-time All-NBA team member. Combining with Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to form the “Big Three” Pierce helped lead the Celtics to two NBA Finals and in 2008 the NBA Championship during which he was named the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player. Pierce ended his Hall of Fame career in 2017 signing a ceremonial contract with the Boston Celtics in order to retire on the team with his jersey being subsequently retired by the Celtics. The Size M15 shoes are labeled for the Season HO12 from his last season with the Celtics and displays a “P2” logo representing another of Pierce’s nicknames on the tongue of each shoe.
