This lot features two Super Bowl used footballs that Brady threw for touchdowns, one to Rob Gronkowski and the other to Danny Amendola to break the NFL record for most touchdowns in Super Bowl History! The second football is signed by both Brady and Amendola. On Feb. 1, 2015, competing in Super Bowl XLIX, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady made history, again. Having already thrown eight Super Bowl touchdown passes in his previous five trips to football’s biggest stage, Brady turned in another stellar performance on football’s biggest stage, this time against the Seattle Seahawks, by registering four more touchdown passes to lead New England to a 28-24 victory. More importantly, as far as the NFL record books are concerned, Brady’s second and third TD passes that day tied and then broke 49ers legend Joe Montana’s long standing Super Bowl record of 11 touchdown passes in a career.

The first of these two history-making touchdown passes occurred with 31 seconds to go in the first half as Brady connected with tight end Rob Gronkowski on a 22-yard reception to the right corner of the end zone, putting the Patriots up, 14-7. That Super Bowl XLIX-branded Wilson football has also been photo matched to that particular game and play by Resolution Photo Matching. It is featured here with the original trainer’s bandage and tape still on it that was wrapped around it following the touchdown with the following identifier in blue marker: “#87TD,” reflecting Gronk’s uniform number and touchdown. The second, record-breaking touchdown pass went to wideout Danny Amendola at the 7:55 mark of the fourth quarter. With the Patriots trailing 24-14, Brady threw a four-yard bullet to Amendola right in the middle of the end zone to bring the Pats within striking distance. That Wilson Super Bowl XLIX-branded football has since been painted on one upper panel to acknowledge Amendola’s memorable TD catch. On a separate lower panel, both Brady and Amendola have signed the football and added their uniform numbers underneath their signatures (12 and 80, respectively). Amendola also added the following inscription: “Super Bowl XLIX Game Used TD Ball.” Brady finished the game with his fourth TD toss of the day to wide receiver Julian Edelman with 2:02 left on the clock. The Patriots defense then hung tough and a game-saving interception by Malcolm Butler sealed the win.

Authentication: Resolution Photo Matching Certificate (#PN072623 - Gronkowski TD football), Danny Amendola Letter of Authenticity (Amendola TD ball), Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity, and a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity for the autographs.
