The original first handwritten transcription of John Wilkes Booth's diary regarding his assassination of President Abraham Lincoln that was used in the trial of John Surratt, Jr. (son of Mary Surratt, owner of the infamous boarding house).

The handwritten transcription is 7 pages long, and Booth had written in his diary his description of the assassination, that he "struck boldly", and "shoulder sic semper before I fired" and in jumping "broke my leg." According to the transcriber, "....the Diary was found upon the body of J. Wilkes Booth. "Edwards Pierrepont, who prosecuted Surrat, Jr. as an accomplice in Lincoln's murder, has written "Diary" on the back of the last page in fountain pen.

Dimensions: 8 in x 12.75, approximately.

Condition: Very Good.

Authenticity: Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
