Offered here is considered to be one of the ultimate pieces of Nirvana memorabilia. An original orange guitar pick that has been signed by Kurt Cobain in black felt tip pen. Included in the lot is a broken guitar piece from an acoustic guitar Cobain smashed, as well as a vintage autograph from Dave Grohl. The item comes from an individual who met Kurt Cobain during the very early years of his career. He was trucking from place to place when he found himself in the middle of a makeshift stage in a record shop on October 21, 1991 at the Waterloo Record Store in Austin, Texas. 30 people squeezed in to watch this band play. Everyone was saying, “This is the next John Lennon”. During the performance, the consignor picked up the orange guitar pick that the lead singer dropped. The singer also destroyed the guitar he was using. After the performance, the consignor went up to the singer, who turned out to be Kurt Cobain. They talked and he asked for him to sign the guitar pick, one used during some of his earliest performances. Kurt obliged and thanked him for coming to the show. The consignor also took a piece of the guitar that Cobain had smashed. This one-of-a-kind item is a must-have for any serious Nirvana collector. Note: The flyer does NOT come with the lot, it is used as demonstration only. Comes with a Letter of Provenance, a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
