Incredible Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali) vintage signed and inscribed JC Higgins regulation boxing glove from the boxing immortal dubbed “The Greatest of All Time.” Signed in 1960, Clay profusely signed and inscribed, “From Cassius Marcellus Clay, Louisville, Kentucky, 19-60,” adding “1959 + 1960 National AAU Champion, 1959 + 1960 National Golden Gloves Champion, World Olympic Boxing Champion 19-60.” Clay was named after his father Cassius Marcellus Clay, Sr. and after his historic defeat of Sonny Liston on February 1964 had announced his conversion to Islam, changing his name from Cassius Clay to Muhammad Ali. This is a remarkable signed boxing glove from Ali signed as Cassius Clay before his historic name change. Very good condition. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from noted boxing historian Craig Hamilton from an earlier Sotheby’s sale of this glove. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
