From the Farley Granger Collection. Montgomery Clift has signed this love letter that he typed to actor William LeMassena in black fountain pen. The letter is dated January 5th, 1952 and is typed on Hotel Hassler, Roma letterhead. Clift writes very candidly, "Where the fuck are you? Here the fuck am I, and I wish the fuck I were some other fuckin' place." He says he can't wait to leave "this Selznick infested country" and makes a reference to the film he had just committed to, "From Here to Eternity." Accompanied by the original envelope the letter was mailed in, the letter measures 7 x 11 and the envelope measures 7 x 4. Very good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
