Michael Jackson "Victory Tour" Worn Sunglasses and Original Tour Package - From David Williams.
These Michael Jackson "Victory Tour" worn sunglasses, and additional tour "package" items were given by Jackson's guitarist on the tour David Williams, to a friend for her birthday. The gold rimmed aviator-style sunglasses were worn by Michael on the tour, and he can be seen in a picture shown here wearing them, or ones that were nearly identical. The photo came with the sunglasses and the tour package. Also included in the package, aside from the identifiying photograph, are two color publicity photos, an original Victory Tour '84 backstage laminate with clip, a Jackson Official limited edition Victory Tour "Video Music Watch" still in its original box and an original 11 x 14 Victory Tour concert program.
David Williams, guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer, was one of the best and most in-demand session guitarists of his time. He also played on a number of tours with Michael Jackson, Madonna and others. His history with Michael is truly robust. He was hired to play on Jackson's 1979 album Off the Wall. He was also featured on every song but one (second only to Tito Jackson) for the Jacksons' 1980 album Triumph; and played on the Jacksons' 1981 concert tour and it's accompanying album, The Jacksons Live!. In 1982, he was used once again on Michael Jackson's Thriller album, where his signature funky strumming and a minimalist solo famously anchor "Billie Jean". Williams also performed on Jackson's album Bad (1987) with hit songs, such as "Bad", "Dirty Diana" and "Smooth Criminal".
Dimensions: Tour book measures 11 in x 14 in, the lamimate measures 3.25 in x 5.5 in, the watch, measures approximately 8.5 in length, and the sunglasses come in a brown semi-hard case.
