Metallica Signed “Ride the Lightning” Album with Cliff Burton Signed on 9/26/1986 A Day Before Tragic Accident.
Metallica band members Cliff Burton, Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich have signed this “Ride the Lightning Album” in a black felt tip pen.
Amazingly, this album was signed on 9/26/1986, during Cliff Burton’s final concert on Solnahallen. Per the consignor: I was at Cliff’s final concert at Solnahallen in Sweden 1986 and after the show the whole band wanted to meet the fans so they put out tables and chairs to meet us. They signed and sat there for a long time to meet the fans. I also took pictures of the show and had one last picture left in my camera choosing between James and Cliff who sat next to him and took the last picture of James. The day after we got the news that Cliff had passed away. It was devastating and so sad.”
Finding an album with this quality of signatures and such provenance is incredibly rare and sought after.
