Marilyn Monroe's personally owned and worn pair of black and white checkered pants. These checkered slacks were a personal favorite of Marilyn Monroe and were worn all throughout her life. Before there was 'Marilyn Monroe' there was little Norma Jeane Barker. These pants were worn by Norma Jeane in countless photo shoots during her early modeling days in the 1940s and right down when she became Marilyn Monroe right up to the early 1960s. These slacks are virtually identical to the pants worn by Marilyn in photo shoots with legendary photographers Andre de Dienes and Alfred Eisenstaedt. These were also worn by Monroe during a cheeky candid taken of her while rehearsing for the film Niagara.
These black and white checkered pants were synonymous with Marilyn as she wore them quite often. Marilyn gave the pants to her friend and business manager Inez Melson, who was an integral part of Marilyn's life and received many personal belongings from the star when she felt like she no longer needed them. The pants are faded slightly due to age.
There are many photos of Marilyn wearing remarkably similar, if not identical pants, that can be view online. A few samples can be viewed by copying and pasting the following into your browser: http://blog.everlasting-star.net/2018/09/fashion-and-beauty/check-out-marilyns-style-staple-at-ms/.
