Marilyn Monroe's owned and worn black cashmere turtleneck sweater. The sweater is accompanied by a letter from her ex-husband, famed playwright Arthur Miller. According to Miller's letter, he believed that Marilyn wore this sweater when she posed for a series of photo shoots for a popular magazine in the 1950's. It is likely he was talking about the 1953 Life Magazine cover of Marilyn Monroe where she was photographed by Alfred Eisenstaedt. He states that Marilyn left the sweater behind at their Roxbury, Connecticut farm that he shared with her. He found the sweater left behind the bedhead in the bedroom they shared. He states that this is a type of sweater that Marilyn commonly wore with the zip side back and she preferred the illusion of tight fabric and how it fitted her body. He describes a memory he has of her wearing it when she was playing with their dog Hugo, in which he had to throw her a tea towel to wipe off the wetness the dog had left on her face after licking her and he said "the great Marilyn Miller has a little something on her face." Good condition, with some wear. Comes with the letter from Miller, (the letter is signed by the charity organizer he sent it to and bears his facsimile signature), and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
