This one-of-a-kind lot captures a slice of baseball and American history, bringing together three key pieces of the legendary Monty Stratton story. This lot contains a signed postcard photograph of Monty Stratton, the 1930's major leaguer who lost his leg in a hunting accident. Amazingly, he was able to return to the minor leagues and pitch for eight seasons using a prosthetic leg – a story which was immortalized by James Stewart in the 1949 film "The Stratton Story". Featured in this lot is also a signed photograph of James Stewart in his Stratton attire from the film. Lastly, this lot also contains a game ticket to the "Monty Stratton Day" Opening Day fund raiser event for Stratton following his off-season amputation. All in Very Good condition. The Stratton photograph measures 3.5" x 5.5" and the Stewart photograph measures 2.75" x 3.25". Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity for the Stewart photo and a JSA Certificate of Authenticity for the Stratton. Also comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
