Buddy Holly signed self-titled album cover.

Holly has signed in the upper left corner with a green ink pen.

Produced by Coral Records, this signed album cover comes with a compelling backstory. Per the son of the original owner, the record was signed by Buddy in 1959 not long before a plane crash would claim his life, along with the lives of Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper. As the second prize winner in a contest with Minneapolis radio station WDGY, the high schooler wrote a 47-word poem that won him tickets to the Winter Dance Party in St. Paul, as well as a chance to meet Buddy, Ritchie, and the Big Bopper. Living some 70 miles away from St. Paul, he got a ride from a friend. They met all three of the main attractions and got his copy of Buddy Holly signed by Buddy.

The LP is in GD-VG 4 condition with tape repair, toning, seam splits in the bottom right corner and upper left corner, writing on the back cover (featuring the original owner's name written in pen), and the disc is in GD-VG 4.

The rarity of this album cannot be overstated, this would be a holy grail item for anyone’s collection.

Authentication: Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity, a Roger Epperson (REAL) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
