Tina Turner owned and stage worn black heeled shoes. From the collection of the late Irwin Pate who passed away in May 2018. Irwin was a renowned booking agent and promotional manager for over four decades. He promoted talent all over the United States and Internationally and during his career he and his wife Clarine obtained a large collection of personal clothing and articles belonging to numerous entertainers. While working with James Brown and more, Irwin got to work with some of the most legendary performers of the 1960s and 1970s. In that period many performers would just leave their stage clothing, costumes and personal effects being after their performances, there wasn't a real understanding at the time of the value these items would come to have. Irwin had the foresight to save many of these items. These black stage shoes were worn by Tina Turner during a live performance with Ike Turner. Irwin rescued them as they were going to be discarded. The shoes have been in the collection of Irwin Pate and his wife Clarine ever since. Very good, vintage stage worn condition. Comes with a letter of authenticity from Irwin Pate's widow, Clarine Pate on the Pate company letterhead and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
