An original award that was presented to Mary Hopkin by the British music newspaper Disc and Music at their Valentine’s Day award ceremony for the ‘Brightest 1969 Hope (world)’. The award which consists of a gold coloured metal disc that is engraved ‘Disc and Music Echo Valentine Pop Poll Awards 1969’ and a gold coloured metal plaque which is engraved ‘1969 HOPE (WORLD) MARY HOPKIN’, both are housed in a red faux leather custom made easel backed box. From the collection of Mary Hopkin. Comes with a modern photograph of Mary holding the award and a colour copy of the page from the newspaper that lists Mary winning it. The box measures 14.75cm x 19.75cm x 3.25cm (5.75 inches x 7.75 inches x 1.25 inches). Markings and wear to the box in various places, some light scratching on the disc and some tarnishing on the plaque. The condition is very good minus. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
