An incredible piece of Paul McCartney memorabilia, the original album cover design done in Paul McCartney’s hand in blue ballpoint pen and black ink. The blank white album is stamped in upper left corner "2 FEB 1978". The album was most likely given to Denny Laine of the Wings, as McCartney write “To Denny” on the upper left corner. The album design Paul did is identical to the actual album cover, with the London bridge, and three people below it, which on the album would be Paul McCartney, Linda McCartney and Denny Laine. McCartney write over his figure “Gobbling on Life” and write very childlike “London Town” on the top of the album. A very unique piece of Wings history, especially it being on a blank 12-inch album. Frank Caiazzo has authenticated the writing of "Denny" on the piece, but was unable to determine if any of the other writings were of McCartney. Fair condition. Comes with original Sotheby's faxed appraisal letter by Dana Hawkes in 1989, a Frank Caiazzo Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
