An original photograph on heavyweight paper of prominent early 20th Century attorney Clarence Darrow, famous leading member of the American Civil Liberties Union and in his defense of John Scopes, the teacher defendant in the Scopes “Monkey” Trial (1925) besides many other prominent cases. The verso of the photograph cites one such case indicating when the photograph was taken with a pencil notation, “…during McNamara Trial Los Angeles,” referring to Darrow’s defense on behalf of the accused bombers of the Los Angeles Times Building in 1910 in which 21 employees were killed and more than 100 injured; described at the time as the “crime of the century.” Very good condition with there being a slight ink notation in the upper right corner. 6 X 8.5. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
