Magnificent bold quill pen ink signature of John Hancock, one of the first to sign the Declaration of Independence; signed as Governor of Massachusetts on this document dated September 22, 1788, making a military appointed of James Holland as Lieutenant in the militia of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The signature of John Hancock is as nice as anyone would ever expect to see. Also signed by Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth, John Avery Jr. Very good condition with minor separation along the vertical center fold line. 16 X 13.
