Kurt Cobain Owned & Dave Grohl 10/30/1993 Soundcheck Used Stella Acoustic Guitar with Stage Used Guitar Picks by Kurt Cobain & Krist Novoselic.
Offered here is an incredibly rare and iconic item, one of Kurt Cobain’s Stella Acoustic Guitars which was played by Dave Grohl during soundcheck for their 10/30/1993 concert in Dayton, Ohio.
Provenance: From the collection of Steve Liberator.
The consignor was family friends with Steve Liberator and Belkin Productions, who ran the concert, so he was able to go backstage during the iconic 10/30/1993 concert in Dayton Ohio. During the soundcheck, Kurt Cobain played drums and Dave Grohl played guitar. There was no acoustic guitar on site so Cobain asked Pat Smear to get this guitar from the tour bus for Grohl to use.
After the concert, Cobain let Steve take the guitar who gifted it to the current consignor.
The lot also comes with two guitar picks from the show, an orange guitar pick used by Kurt Cobain and a purple guitar pick, most likely used by Krist Novoselic.
It is uncertain where Cobain used the guitar, but it was definitely a part of his collection.
Good condition. The strings have been changed on the guitar.
Authentication: Letter of Provenance and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
