A chequered winter hat has that was owned and worn by Kurt Cobain at Seattle airport on 12th March 1994. Kurt was returning to the USA after the cancellation of the groups 1994 European tour, the cancellation was caused by Cobain losing his voice and a doctor ordered him to take four weeks off touring. Kurt then travelled to Rome, Italy to meet his wife Courtney and his daughter and rest. On March 4th 1994 he unfortunately suffered an overdose at the Excelsior Hotel in the city. He recovered and travelled home to Seattle on 12th March 1994, whilst at the airport some of the last known photos of Kurt were taken and he can clearly be seen wearing this hat at the airport. The hat comes from a close associate of Cobain’s and is accompanied by a letter of provenance from her. Comes with a collection of snapshot photographs of Kurt wearing the hat and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
